The Cardinal Art Sculpture

A Sculpture on a Grand Scale - Jeff Laramore, Artist

The Cardinal is a modern impression of the State Bird of Indiana. The overall size is approximately 50' long x 30' high. The sculpture rests in a small arts garden along with other representations of Indiana.
The construction is composed of compound curved aluminum plate, custom curved by Linel using an English Wheel. The curved aluminum plate was then welded to sub-frames of a steel box beam spar with aluminum ribs. As shown in the video, there are several sections that make up the entire sculpture.
The Cardinal is finished in a high gloss, high performance Kynar coating. Linel's scope included design, engineering, fabrication, finish and erection on site.
