Restoration of a Frank Lloyd Wright Skylight.
Linel's scope was to engineer, fabricate and install the double helix skylight following the Rotunda Gallery at the exterior perimeter ramp. The geometry and diameter constantly change up the helix. A movement of +/- 3/4" building expansion had to accommodate a dihedral direction-outward and downward. A high performance, self-cleaning insulated glass unit with a thermally broken frame was selected for the sound control and energy efficient requirements.
Compliance with New York City Landmark Preservation statutes for historic profiles was a requirement. Linel is proud to have been chosen to participate in the renovation of this historic project.
