A Monumental Skylight

Founders Hall (formerly Nations Bank) part of the Bank of America Corporate Center is in the heart of Charlotte N.C.’s city center. This stunning open, free spanning, skylight system was engineered, manufactured, and installed by Linel. The uniquely designed expansion joints allow the segmented vault section to sway up to 2” off center while the Curtain Wall remains fixed in place. A triple tiered gutter system designed and engineered specifically for this skylight allows positive control of any water infiltration, draining to the bottom of the system. Clear Low-E insulated glazing provides a soaring focal point that brings the outdoors into a large multi-function atrium space below.
